Hanalei Colony Resort # G1 condominium has a semi open floor plan with sleeping for 4 people, 2 full bathrooms with 1 tub. Bedding consists of 1 King Bed, and 2 Twin Beds. It is situated right on the beach on Kauai's unspoiled north shore. And like the island itself, it is unplugged from the busy pace of the outside world. After crossing seven one-lane bridges you will reach the resort, and immediately become immersed in the surroundings. There is a complete full kitchen and contemporary, island inspired furnishings. The unit has no television or phone, and their sounds are replaced with that of a simpler Hawaii. They are the sounds of birds singing, the surf caressing the sandy shore, and trees swaying with the ocean breeze. There's a beautiful pool on site - with coin operated laundry facilities, and a delicious restaurant next door with a delightful coffee shop. Although there is a dedicated high speed Wi-Fi Internet access installed in #G-1, this is the place for the ultimate in relaxation and stunning views.

Please note that this property is managed independently of the resort so certain resort amenities are not provided, including use of the shuttle and housekeeping services.

  This property had an amazing view as you are literally steps away from the ocean. We could not swim or go into the water in this area because of the strong currents. Hanalei Bay for swimming and Anini Beach for snorkeling were a short drive away. The condominium was large and sufficient for our needs. It is old and because it is close to the ocean things are rusted and in need of repair. The lanai porch light did not work which was a bummer, but everything else that needed repair was insignificant. There were plenty of supplies (bring your own bath soap) and it was clean enough for us. This condominium is all about the location and the view.

  We love the location of the Hanalei colony resort.The seclusion and calm is amazing.
  We enjoyed the beach and the pool area.
  While our room was clean, unit itself needs a little TLC. There are doors and windows that don't close properly, paint chipping off the ceiling, window shades that don't open, and a toilet seat that is loose.
  As I mentioned, the location is amazing, and it was a joy to be so close to the ocean.

  We've stayed next door to the Colony for years but our property was under construction so we thought, 'what the ****?'. It didn't disappoint. It's not fancy, but not bad. The freezer door handle came off in our hands (because everything rusts and the screws were rusted out), one of the porch chairs was broken, we didn't have enough toilet paper for 3 old women, and the door lock was rusted and took 5 minutes each time to pray it would open (we used canola oil and that loosened it up). The beds were comfy, living room nice, but there's no insulation from other units. So the couple next door were having horrible fights in front of their two kids under 4 yrs old, the 20-somethings above us we're possibly clogging at all hours of the day/nite? Would recommend the place also because there is a restaurant there open 11 am every day.

  The location is amazing. The beach and swimming are just a short walk from this unit. Having a pool, hot tub and laundry on property is so convenient as well. My complaints are that we didn't have access to the shuttle because we rented through a third party. Having the shuttle would have been a game changer. I would have spent more time in town if I didn't have to worry about getting back to the resort and all the one lane bridges. Having access to the shuttle would have helped getting to the beaches at the end of the road too. Another thing to consider is that this unit does not have housekeeping which doesn't bother me at all. I'm a clean freak but this unit didn't have any cleaning working vacuum, not toilet bowl brush and no mops. yes, I would happily stay in this unit again. It's dated but the view is incredible, the ocean is beautiful, and we sat on our lanai dreaming of how to move here fulltime.

  The property location was incredible and the view from the room was great. If you need a property that is updated, clean, and comes with things you need for the week this is NOT the property for you. We emailed to get a frying pan and garbage bags that were suppose to come with unit and we received an email response but nothing was ever done and we were asked to change garbage each day. Kitchen and items provided were not satisfactory if you plan to cook. Instructions for unit and guest care was different from rental company agreement, guest book by owner, and sign on fridge. We were not sure what they wanted the guest to do, so we did our best to be good guests at departure. Fire Alarm - Broken, Dust on dividers, floor dirty, bathrooms tubs and kitchen appliances rusted, screens did not lock, etc.....furniture is at least 20 years old, looks ok but definitely not comfortable. Outdoor furniture was old and for smaller folks. I expected more for 500.00 a night. The pictures of the unit were misleading as that was not the outdoor furniture at the unit. We stayed 5 days and wish we had only stayed 2-3. If you are only coming for the view and location and do not care about the inside then this is for you.

  The unit can’t have a better location. Wake up to a sunrise with Hanalei Bay views. Walk a quarter mile to view the sunset. Swimming is outside the door.

  We love this property and it is the third time we have stayed here. The view is amazing and we love being in this quiet area of the island. We were quite surprised by the condition of the unit. Many of the cabinet doors were locked understandably but those that were available to us, especially the closet in the bedroom was crammed full of items. The condition of the floor, appliances, and plumbing fixtures were rusted and in need of repair. The lining on the lounge chairs was disintegrating and falling off of the chairs. I am happy to send photographs. I would recommend the property but not this unit

  We absolutely love the stunning view and the area overall. This was our 3rd time to Hanalei area and 2nd time to Hanalei Colony Resort in this unit. Yet, this time we were somewhat disappointed. The slider screen did not lock so that we could fall asleep to the sound of the ocean!!! The bathroom door with bathtub shower didn't close well & the tub and other parts in the condo are rusted. We were not told that the pool & laundry room were out of commission.....that Kee Beach Park required a reservation ahead of time (so we missed one of our favorite places) and that many of the good restaurants in Hanalei required long ahead reservations. We feel the $350 a night in addition to the large cleaning fee may be too much due to the place being a bit run down & the not effective communication by the property management company. We were told rental cars were hard to come by Napali Prop (but fortunately we found a reasonably priced one) and that there may be a long delay getting into Hanalei due to the mudslide, however. The roads getting in were fine.

  There were only two small items that I would mention.
  1) while everything was clean, the floors didn't 'feel' clean.

  Our rental was perfect! The view could not be beat. Steps to the sand and the best beeeze to keep the place the perfect temperature. Not the best beach for swimming for kids, but really close access to great swimming beaches. The pool was getting remodeled so that took away from the property a bit, as we have kids. The grounds were beautifully kept and it just added to the feel of paradise. The onsite restaurant was great and my kids loved the smoothies at the coffee shop. Overall, it was fantastic and we will be back!

  Pros- The condo was right on the sand. The view was beautiful! The beds were comfortable and it was spacious for a 2 bedroom. Clean and well appointed. The complex was very quiet and not crowded. If you are staying here it is for the location and views! Gorgeous area!
  Cons- the bed rooms did not have walls. Very open to the living and other bedroom. The bathrooms are small and very dated. Needs a remodel. There are no steps at this condo down to the beach. You either have to walk around the building or slide down a few rocks.

  This unit has terrific views and is super well located for those wanting an end-of-the-road experience.
  The space is great, with partitions to create two 'bedrooms' with each one having its own bath.
  This beach is very windy, all the time, so plan on spending your beach time mostly somewhere else, and because of the beachfront location, many of the hardware items in the unit are a bit creaky and difficult to operate (the slide panels, folding door partitions, etc). Overall a terrific stay and place to stay.
